Today is our fearless leaders birthday, and we just had to share our excitement with you, too!! This has been a big year for our little studio. We have relocated to a larger space, added a new designer to our team, and opened up our studio to all of our clients needing daily arrangements. None of this could have been possible without Thea and her dream to bring happiness to Northwest Arkansas through flowers. We couldn't think of a better leader for our little team, and are so blessed to spend yet another birthday designing by her side!

Happy Birthday, Thea! May this year be the best year yet!!

As most of our clients know, July is a HUGE month for us because we celebrate two birthdays in our studio (Althea and Farron) and they are a day apart -- as well as America's birthday on the 4th! Inspiration of the Day: Cakes

The trend of placing fresh flowers on your wedding cake (or any special celebration cake) has went through several transitions over the years as styles have changed. For us, this is great! (And for the bakers and clients as well.) We have seen some beautiful cake florals, and we have definitely heard of our share of calamities. Here are a few of our tips for choosing fresh floral for your cake:

1. Do your research. Find cakes you like and cakes you do not like.

2. Have an open conversation with your baker and florist about the details of having fresh flowers on your cake. (i.e. What flowers match your wedding style and cake best? Which flowers work best on cakes? etc.)

3. Most importantly: have a professional put the flowers on your cake. Make sure either your florist or your baker will be putting the flowers on your cake. You do not want someone who has never put flowers on a cake to do this. There are structural things that need to be done to ensure that the flowers stay on your cake and that your cake stays standing.

If you are using a professional florist and baker, they will work together on what needs to happen and who will do what. This will keep you from having to worry about these details, and all you will need to do is pick your cake and most importantly: your flowers!

Inspiration: Boutonnieres

Today, we wanted to highlight one of our favorite things: the boutonniere. 

Traditionally, the groom gives the bride her bouquet, then the bride plucks a single bloom from her bouquet and gives it back to the groom for him to wear.   However, we are finding more and more of our men wanting to really showcase their personality in their boutonniere.

Greening of The Gardens

We were honored to take part of Greening of the Gardens at Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks this year. We are always excited to hear from the team at the Gardens, and this year was no different. Here are a few of our pictures throughout the process, and a few shots of the final product.

We can't wait to work with the Botanical Gardens again, and look forward to next year's "Greening". Enjoy!!

We "greened" the studio that week with all of the centerpieces. We chose white and green to keep the look fresh for the outdoor party.

The before, during, and after shots of our buffet centerpiece. We ended up making 3 large urn arrangements for the event.

We created three different looks for the varying tables using the same flowers.

Flower Love: Peonies

As event florists we get to use peonies a lot. However, right now we get to see these gorgeous flowers in flower beds all throughout our community which makes us even happier! As the day grows gloomy, enjoy our current flower love!!
