2014 Color of the year: RADIANT ORCHID

Radiant Orchid
Yesterday, Pantone announced the 2014 color of the year: Radiant Orchid.  Here's a bit of the press release.

“While the 2013 color of the year, PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”
“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”
Personally, I'm very happy with this color.  It's one I've been using for the Rose of Sharon brand for a while now and some of my favorite bouquets that we designed include this color.

How do you think the 2014 color compares to the colors from past years?

True Love Tuesday: Olivia & Matthew

This super sweet couple tied the knot at the new Fairlane Station in Springdale in July. The mint and plum colors were perfect for a mid-summer wedding.

Plum & Aqua: $$$$ vs $

I thought this was a great contrast. The photo on the left is $$$$ while the photo on the right is $.  Which do you want for your event?

St. Catherine's at Bell Gable vibrant spring wedding

One of my favorite locations in Fayetteville is the beautiful St. Catherine's at Bell Gable Chapel.  No matter what time of year, this is one gorgeous location!
Flagstone aisle lined with purple wildflowers.

Bridal bouquet: purple irises, tulips, asters and statice
...and green Hypericum  Berries.

The Attendants carried lavender Alstroemeria Lilies
accented with bright green Button Mums.

Boutonnieres and corsages for everyone else.
