Who's supposed to pay for that?

Have you ever wondered who was supposed to pay for wedding flowers?  Well, in today's wedding, it is common for the bride and groom to bear most, if not all of the financial responsibilities.  Traditionally, however, the bride's family is responsible for most of the wedding flowers, with a few items that are specifically the responsibility of the groom's family.

Bride / Bride's Family Responsibilities:
~ Flowers for all female attendants (including Flower Girls)
~ All corsages EXCEPT those for Mothers and Grandmothers
~ All ceremony decor
~ All reception decor

Groom / Groom's Family
~ Bride's bouquet
~ Corsages for Mothers and Grandmothers
~ All boutonnieres
~ Flowers for family member unable to attend the wedding
~ All decor for the Rehearsal Dinner

Flower of the Month Monday: June - Rose

Everyone knows that each month has a different birthstone, but did you know that every month also has a Flower? By far one of the best known flowers is the Rose, and it is also the month of June's flower. So, in honor of this great flower we are going to showcase different ways a Rose can be used in your event. This week is for all of our fabulous June brides, and their gorgeous bouquets.

Enjoy!

True Love Tuesday: Kayla & Will

Kayla wanted a sweet but beautiful bouquet for her wedding. Does this bouquet not make you want to just go out and sit in your grandmother's garden?! Which is perfect since Kayla had a beautiful garden wedding.

Thanks to Kathryn McGill Photography for the lovely detail shots!

Enjoy!!

Her bouquet consisted of Carnations, Wax flowers, Aster, Alstroemeria Lilies, Cushion Mums, and Stock.
We couldn't leave out the sweet little corsages and boutonnieres or the fabulous headpiece we created for the bride, groom and their families with coordinating blooms.

Thanks to Kathryn McGill Photography for this detail shot!

Garden Wedding with Phalaenopsis Orchids

While this Garden Wedding occurred in late March, it certainly felt like a summer garden party.  Partly, of course, because it was held at the beautiful Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.  I've been looking forward to this wedding since last year!  When I first spoke to the bride and groom, I knew right away this was a wedding that would be both fun and beautiful!

Vintage Autumn Wedding

This bride chose soft, romantic colors for her October wedding.  The pallet included shades of peach, plum, ivory, and golds.

The best part of the wedding was the surprise bouquet party where each of the attendants created their own bouquet using flowers picked by the bride.  As you can see, they had a great time!

Ceremony Location: Central United Methodist Church

Carnations in August

One of our August weddings was all about Carnations.  We used shades of peach carnations accented with peach Hypericum Berries for all the personal flowers.

Carnations are a wonderful flower for the hot summer months.  They hold up well in the heat and they are quite beautiful.  Take a look...
