Spreading her wings

Erin (my intern from last summer) is spreading her florist wings.  Today she took a container, a list of flowers to use and an inspiration photo and no further instruction. She stepped right up, created a design and whipped out 25 centerpieces.

Staying within a client's budget and design requests can sometimes be a challenge.  You can't always add a bit here or there.  You just have to make it work . . . and make it look beautiful!  Erin is definitely on her way to being a great florist.  I'm so proud of her!

We started 2012 with a beautiful wedding held at Pratt Place Barn.  Peonies, Hydrangeas, tulips, roses, wax-flower and baby's breath in rustic containers and vintage jars ... ivory linens with burlap runners...soft, romantic, vintage, BEAUTIFUL!  The shop smelled wonderful for days.

Carnations in August

One of our August weddings was all about Carnations.  We used shades of peach carnations accented with peach Hypericum Berries for all the personal flowers.

Carnations are a wonderful flower for the hot summer months.  They hold up well in the heat and they are quite beautiful.  Take a look...
